Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I check my power steering fluid?

Check level at every oil change. Flush and replace every 30,000 miles or 2 years. If you’re hearing noises or experiencing stiff steering, check it sooner.

My steering wheel groans when I turn. Is that the fluid?

Often yes — low fluid causes the pump to cavitate (whine or groan). It can also be a failing pump or worn hose. We’ll check the system and tell you what’s actually causing it.

My truck has electric power steering. Do I still need fluid service?

No hydraulic fluid required on EPS systems. But we’ll still check your steering components for wear, play, or damage during any service visit.

Can I top off my power steering fluid myself?

Yes — if you know the correct fluid spec and the level is simply low. If it’s consistently low, that indicates a leak that needs to be diagnosed, not just topped off repeatedly.

Do you service all makes and models?

Yes — gas and diesel, trucks and daily drivers, all makes. Serving Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Portland metro.
