Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I replace my brake fluid?

Every 2 years or 30,000 miles — regardless of mileage if you’re in a humid climate. More frequently if you tow or regularly descend mountain grades.

What’s the difference between DOT 3 and DOT 4?

DOT 4 has a higher boiling point (446°F dry / 311°F wet vs. DOT 3’s 401°F / 284°F wet). For trucks that tow, haul, or brake hard — DOT 4 is the right choice.

Can I mix DOT 3 and DOT 4?

You can add DOT 4 to a DOT 3 system in a pinch. Never add DOT 3 to a system designed for DOT 4 — it lowers the boiling point. Never mix glycol fluids with DOT 5 silicone fluid.

Is a brake bleed the same as a fluid flush?

No. A bleed removes air from the lines. A flush replaces old, moisture-contaminated fluid with fresh fluid. You may need both after brake repairs.

Do you service all makes and models?

Yes — all vehicles, gas and diesel, trucks and daily drivers. Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Portland metro.
