Frequently Asked Questions

How often should brake fluid be flushed?

Every 2 years or 30,000 miles under normal driving conditions. If you tow regularly, drive mountain routes, or live in a high-humidity climate, consider annually. We can test the moisture content and tell you exactly where your fluid stands.

What’s the difference between a brake bleed and a brake flush?

A bleed removes air from the lines, typically after brake work. A flush replaces the contaminated fluid throughout the entire system. A flush includes a bleed but goes further — the old fluid is completely replaced with fresh fluid at every corner.

Can I use DOT 4 if my truck calls for DOT 3?

Yes — DOT 4 is compatible with DOT 3 systems and provides higher heat resistance. The reverse is not true: never use DOT 3 in a system that requires DOT 4. We use whatever spec your vehicle calls for, or recommend DOT 4 if you tow.

My brakes feel fine. Do I still need a flush?

Fluid condition doesn’t always present as a pedal feel change — until it does, under hard braking. By the time you notice brake fade on a mountain descent or a hard highway stop, the fluid has already failed its job. A proactive flush is significantly cheaper than repairing corroded calipers or an ABS modulator.

Do you service all makes and models?

Yes — gas and diesel, trucks and daily drivers. Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Portland metro.
